If you’re not sure how you can use your coupon, COME INSIDE THE STORE. Don’t go in drive thru. Unless you literally can not walk, come the fuck inside the store to ask.
The purpose of drive thru is for quick service. It is not for people who need to take time to look at the board and decide what they want. It is not for people who need to ask ten different questions.
If you want better, personalized service, then come inside. It’s easier to talk to the person there, and much easier to get a manager or someone else with more experience to explain things, or heck, if you want a sandwich made in a particular way, you’ll be able to talk with the actual person making sandwiches.
Like there was this one lady in drive thru, she had a coupon for a buy one, get one free smoothie drink. She wanted to use it with the 20 piece nugget meal, that comes with two fries and two drinks. I knew from past experience that we can not use those coupons with a meal, and I tell her that.
Three times. Because she asks me the question repeatedly, as if the answer will change.
THEN she gets to window, and hands me a completely different coupon, and then just stares at me. Since the coupon is more generic “one free small Hot or Iced McCafe drink” then I need specifics for what the hell she wants.
After I get that out of her, she shows me the coupon she was talking about earlier in drive thru, and asks, for a fourth time, if she can use it with the meals.
I tell her the same answer, along with “it’s only one coupon per order per customer.”
At least she didn’t get angry with me, but geez, she was annoying.
