This happened a few months ago, but reblogging the last submission reminded me of it.

I’m taking orders at front counter in the store, and as I’m putting down an order for these two women, I see someone walk into the store with a cup. I watch out of the corner of my eye as she heads to the soda machine, and I notice that her cup is a Jack in the Box cup.

If you can’t tell by now, I work at McDonalds.

So anyways I tell the two ladies who I’m taking their order I’ll be one moment, then call out to the new lady, who has started to fill her drink with soda. I had waited until then because if she was just getting ice, well, I didn’t really care about that.

So this lady looks up, surprised, and I tell her that she can’t fill up on soda with a Jack in the Box cup, but she can purchase a soda here after I finish taking my current customer’s orders.

Thankfully the customer apologies, and says she must have left her McDonalds cup in her car. I tell her that she can’t refill that either, since once you’ve left the store you can’t constantly refill the cup. Soda’s cheap, but we’d lose money like crazy if you could constantly refill your soda cup for more then just the time you’re there…

She just looks, well, confused, then leaves.

Later a manager mentions having talked to the customer outside, and I tell her about it, and we both just laugh at it.
